Hot Bittersweet Sauce

Melt the following in a saucepan, stirring over low heat until smooth.

1/4 cup butter (1/2 cube)
2 Tablespoons cocoa

Then stir in
3/4 cup sugar,
1/4 cup canned milk
1/8 teaspoon salt.

Bring slowly to a boil. Remove from heat. Then blend in 1 tablespoon vanilla.

This goes great as a topping for ice cream!

 Buttermilk Syrup

1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cups buttermilk (or milk soured with lemon)
1 stick of butter
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup (or honey)
1 teaspoon baking soda 
2 teaspoons vanilla

In a saucepan, combine the first 5 ingredients. Bring to a boil and let boil for 7 minutes. Turn off the heat and then stir in the vanilla.
