We love how the Internet has changed the way we communicate. But there are some things that we don't like. SPAM is the major issue, and viruses too. We'd like to offer some tips on how to reduce receiving spam, as well as keep from passing your friend's email addresses on to those who send spam. Why this page? Because we frequently get well meaning emails from friends and family telling us to "forward this message to all your friends". No too much later, we also see an increase of SPAM emails...could there be a connection?

Unfortunately, our main email account that we use to correspond with friends and family is also the one that gets forwarded in these emails. We feel blessed because our email server has very strong anti-spam filters that lock out a bunch of the junk. We'd like to request that you make the email server's job easier.

Click HERE to read about why it's a bad idea to "forward this to everyone you know".

If you really feel the email is worth sending to everyone, please use the BCC (blind carbon copy) in Outlook Express (or whatever email program you use). We use it to send out our prayer updates and NO ONE has ever complained to us about it.

One other free tip. If you have a website and want to hide your address from "spambots" and email "spiders", keep reading.

If you have a website and want to hide your address from "spambots" and email "spiders", here is a script that you can use to cloak your email address.

Just right click on the script below and copy it to your computer.  Retype it into your webpage where you want your email address to appear.  Then change the word "yourname" to the name of the first half of your email address (before the @ symbol). Then change the part that says "yoursite.com-org-net" to the name of your domain, be it a .com, .org, .net, etc. Save the changes, and your email address is cloaked!
