Equipment I use and recommend

Here are some products I use and recommend regularly.  Click on the picture for more info.  I usually buy from Amazon.com because it's hard to beat their prices!

 



This microphone eliminates the need for hooking up a mixer in order to use a good microphone with your computer recording setup.  Plug it into your USB port, choose "USB audio" in your audio recording software, and you're off and running. It has 3 mic capsules, which allows you to use switch between cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional & stereo polar patterns.  This means it can be used as a desktop mic or for recording audio dramas and allow the actors to be face to face as they talk.

It has excellent reviews from people who need a good quality mic that is easy to hook up to a computer.



This little camcorder is the size of an iPhone, records super high quality video, and plugs right into your USB port, making it really easy to transfer your video to your computer.  Make sure to couple it with the SD chip mentioned below.


This SD card is fast enough to record the video coming from the Kodak Zi8 without any skips or hiccups.

I recommend this recorder to anyone and everyone who needs to record anything. It's durable, versatile, and the amount you can record is only limited by the size of the SD card you put in it.  Pop the SD card into your computer, and in two minutes, you can be editing the audio with Audacity!



This little microphone, after a tiny bit of trimming with a sharp blade, allows you to use Skype on your iPod Touch and use it like an iPhone - but without the monthly fees!  Install Skype on your iPod Touch, plug in the mic and a set of headphones, and you're talking for free wherever you have access to a wireless Internet connection!




If you need an external hard drive case that has both USB and Firewire connectivity, this one is reasonably priced and performs flawlessly.
