A Lot To Be Thankful For
Yesterday, three days after Thanksgiving, we saw a large male turkey by the side of the road. He was alive and well and strutting his stuff. Perhaps he was out celebrating the fact that he was still alive.
I wake up every morning, grateful for another day that God has given me to live on His earth, another day to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. I have been in a few situations where I have looked death in the eye. Funny enough, my life did not pass before my eyes. All I was thinking was "I wish I would have hugged my wife and my kids once more before I left." I was ready to go, but God spared me.
For this reason, I understand that every day I am given is a gift. Thanksgiving can be more than a day. It can be a state of mind.
Be ready. Be thankful.
